MARKETING Marketing Market Analysis Bella Fleur Wedding Reception will begin as a small business, targeted mainly at people looking for a versatile wedding and a variety of options. The target market for this business will range from clients looking for somewhere to have their wedding reception to clients looking for somewhere where they can hold a christening. Marriages around Australia are of high occurrence, and therefore the target market for Bella Fleur will be diverse and ever growing. The table below shows the number of marriages over time from 1988 2007. Total marriages 1998-2007 Graph: Total marriages-1998-2007 Bella Fleur wedding reception has a main goal of market expansion. Over the time frame of ten years, this business will hope to expand and become a franchise. In order to do so, customer awareness will need to be gained and further focused on. Bella Fleur will mainly focus on promotion and customer awareness in the month of March. As statistics show, weddings in Australia were found in 2007 that March was the most popular month. This is show in the table below found on; http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/[emailprotected]/mf/3306.0.55.001 Months of marriage 2007 Graph: Months of marriage-2007 Competitor Analysis Within wedding reception industry in Sydney, the competitive environment is quite intense and the number of competitors is fairly large. This means that while Bella Fleur will be entering the market place, there may be many competitive advantages as well as disadvantages. Existing competitors leaving the industry could be an advantage while entrepreneurs opening up businesses in this industry could be a disadvantage. For this business, two main competitors have been chosen and analyzed. They are shown below. Competitor Information Strengths of Competitor Weaknesses of Competitor Bella Fleur Strategies THE VAUDEVILLE FUNCTION LOUNGE 176 The River Road, Revesby NSW 2212 Specializes in all functions Prestige Excellent promotion and customer awareness Large Space Many years experience No cultural aspect Doesnt offer as many services as Bella Fleur High pricing Bella Fleur holds a cultural aspect and offers all kinds of services possible for an event. The budget is flexible and works with the clients budget. Bella Fleur is dedicated to gain customer awareness by promotion skills and in time will also expand the business. DOLTONE HOUSE FUNCTION CENTRE 223 Belgrave Esplanade, Sylvania Waters, NSW 2224 Excellent View Prestige Customer Awareness Franchise Large Business Large spaces Many years experience No cultural aspect Focuses mainly on the reception rather than the planning High pricing Bella Fleur holds a cultural aspect and offers all kinds of services possible for an event. The budget is flexible and works with the clients budget. Bella Fleur is dedicated to gain customer awareness by promotion skills and in time will also expand the business. Product Analysis The main function of Bella Fleur will be to provide clients with all specific and small components of a wedding and all other functions. This may be the main function, however this function will vary from client to client as it is a service that is offered rather than a good and clientele diversity is a given in this type of industry. The budget of the wedding reception will depend of the clients budget. For example, if a client is will to spend only a small amount of money on the wedding, different options will be given to this client than the client who is willing to spend millions of dollars. Changes at these times will occur mainly in menu, which room the function will be held in, how many people will be at the wedding and all different small details. At Bella Fleur, concentration will be placed on customer comfort as well as happiness, the customer must be happy with the services we have to offer before they will open up to the staff and ensure that trust is placed in us. A product analysis is not entirely necessary when planning this kind of business as it offers services rather than goods. Price Analysis At Bella Fleur, prices will depend upon the budget of the client rather than the budget of the reception venue. Many different offers and deals will be given to clients ensuring they are able to choose and adapt the services and products in order to create a dream wedding while working around their own budget. Once a client has chosen the deal which they would like to go ahead with, it is the responsibility of the reception venue to then purchase appropriate goods and plan appropriate methods to ensure that a profit will be made rather than a loss. Prices will vary depending on; The menu The seating plan The number of people The services chosen Decorations Changes made to the hall Promotion Analysis As any business, when Bella Fleur wedding reception venue first opens up, the main short term goal will be to gain high customer awareness. This goal will become long term while the business grows. The location of this business assists in developing its promotion and prestige. The business will be advertised in newspapers, wedding magazines, on street signs and billboards. However, this will not be accomplished with the original startup capital of the business. Direct Marketing, Sales promotion and Publicity will all be used in order to promote the business. Place Analysis Bella Fleur wedding reception is located on the main road of one of Sydneys higher class suburbs. The location of this business is of prime importance especially for its promotion. The venue is overlooking a lake and a beautiful natural environment. This gives Bella Fleur a competitive advantage over its competitors who are often placed in areas where no view is available. I followed all my deadlines and completed things before the due date. My understanding of what a business plan had to be like expanded during the course of this assignment as I researched and questioned different aspects of the assignment. I struggled with some sections of the assignment which had not been explained clearly during class time, and I struggled to understand the concept just by looking at internet sites and in the text book. This weakness can be seen in the effort put into the sections. The two sections which I struggled most in were; marketing and finances. I found it difficult to understand the set up and what we had to include in these sections and this was shown in the lack of quality in these sections. I feel that I did quite well in this assignment regarding the circumstances that were put to us. I am glad that I met deadlines, however next time, I will try to understand all content before beginning an assignment. Overall, my progress throughout this assignment was satisfactory and I was happy with the fact that I was able to teach myself things and understand concepts which are found to be difficult just by reading over a text book or internet site. However, the quality of the two sections is a downfall for the assignment. My goals for this assignment were; Meet the deadlines Ensure all the work was understood Complete the assignment to the best of my ability I feel that these goals were fulfilled and am proud of this accomplishment. Potassium Iodide Lab Essay
I. Title: Finding the Formula for Lead Nitrate II. Purpose: This experiment was to test the different concentration levels of specified alkali metals to determine the greatest mass of lead nitrate. III. Background Information: Potassium Iodide Potassium Iodide is a crystallized, white salt but known to turn a bright yellow when exposed to prolonged moisture such as mixing with water. It is a simple iodine salt. In its natural state it is mostly colorless and odorless. If tasted, it would be like saline and extremely bitter and is has a relatively low level of hazard. Its main use is in photography but also used in table salt to ââ¬Å"iodizeâ⬠food and can be used in expectorants for lung congestion. It can also be used to protect the thyroid from radioactive iodine Potassium iodide IUPAC name Potassium iodide Other names Kalium iodide, knollide, potide Identifiers CAS number [7681-11-0] RTECS number TT2975000 Properties Molecular formula KI Molar mass 166.00 g/mol Lead Nitrate Lead Nitrate is a hazardous colorless crystal or white powder. After combined, it almost instantly turned to a neon yellow. While filtering, a colorless liquid seeped through while the yellow precipitate clung to the filter paper. There was little water in the flask but over half the filter paper had been covered in neon yellow. e) cautions: One must ensure to Read the meniscus at the proper point Use a plastic graduated cylinder for elimination of meniscus Measure by getting down at eye level Carefully take proper measurements Use two filter papers for double filtration Zero the scale after first weighing the filter paper Use an electronic scale for accuracy Product enhancements to minimize error Digital scale Pipetteââ¬â¢s measurements to allow a few drops of solution to be retained Plastic graduated cylinders for no confusion figure 1: rinsing setup figure 2: Pipette dispensing of liquids figure 3: filtering apparatus VII. Analysis The lab performed was found to be an effective way of discerning the formulation of lead nitrate and potassium iodideââ¬â¢s precipitate and use the chemical formula to understand the reaction. The formula is as follows: KI + Pb(NO3)2 ââ¬â> PbI + K(NO3)2. Potassium Iodide and Lead Nitrate yield Lead Iodide and Potassium Nitrate. The reaction taking place is known to be a double replacement. The two compounds split and then combine with the counterparts. The PbI remains in the solution and the K(NO3)2 forms the precipitate. The purpose of the experiment was to find which combination of concentrations would consequently have the greatest impact on the mass of the Lead Iodide. It was found that when the concentrations of each are 5:5, the filtration leaves a substantial amount of the liquid and the yellow precipitate known as lead iodide is at the peak of the masses. The interesting part of the experiment is that it was far from expected results. It was conducted by three classes and the data varied across the chart. The last test group was not able to be used because of the inconsistency in which the obtained measurements compared to those of the rest of the tests. Therefore, only two classes were compared. The 4th period was seen to be the most accurate. The first two measurements, those of 1:9 and 2:8 varied greatly. The following masses compared were similar yet period 3 were all a little lower until the last concentration level measurements which were almost exactly the same The mistakes prevalent in the lab are not due to the experiment itself. Rather, it is human error that can be held accountable for the drastic differences. One of the reasons is improper measuring and mixing to begin. The students may not have gone to eye level to read each mark carefully to ensure only the most exact measurements. Also, the pipette is made of glass. This calls for the meniscus to be read properly or else the measurements will be off. To avoid confusion of the meniscus with graduated cylinders, plastic would be most appropriate. Luckily, these are hydrophobic and without a meniscus, they are simple to read. If glass was used, then it would leave open some opportunities for mistakes. With the pipettes, there could have easily been bubbles. The bubbles would take up space where the liquid should be for precise measuring. If twisted the wrong way, it would be easy for air to get trapped and cause these pockets. The pipettes however are carefully crafted so that the markings are a little above where they should be. Taking that into consideration, the room for error in not allowing all the water to drip out of the pipette, if done properly, is eliminated. Another space for error is the filter papers. Some of them were larger than the others. This can distort the results. The same filter paper should be used for all of those participating in the tests. The papers also varied in thickness. Others used only one paper, allowing too much precipitate through, and others used more than two. This allows the paper to absorb too much liquid instead of filtering it all the way through. An additional problem is evaporation. Leaving the filtration apparatus uncovered could allow gradual evaporation. Quite oppositely, the humidity in the room could also cause tampering with the solution. With the weather changes, the temperature of the lab was not held at a constant. One day it was heated the next was at a very cool temperature. This could easily have an effect on the experiment. All these reasons could have a great deal in the variety of results. The experiment would need to be performed again to accurately portray the data. Human error would need to be nonexistent VII. Conclusion As previously stated, the results of the experiment were not all in agreement. The different classes obtained various results. This can be due to human error. After realizing the effects on the reaction taking place, it was also discernable how concentration can easily affect the combination. However valuable knowledge on the formation of lead iodide was gained from this lab and the purpose was successfully completed.

She was talking about a customer she had to deal with in the office and the husband started talking about a official, yet interesting case he was working on. He was talking about running tests, so I'm guessing he works some sort of Job in a hospital like setting or maybe a lab. After they talked about their work for a minute she started to talk about the baby they were expecting and how excited they were. She seemed nervous and wanted everything to be planned out and in order for when the baby came.He reassured her that she had been doing a great Job and he did not want her to work too hard or stress out. He even offered to take on more responsibilities around the house because he did not want her on her feet too much. The woman had a smile on her face. The couple seemed to have a very healthy relationship. What the husband was saying to his wife was very helpful. He wanted to relieve any stress that she had and reassured her that she is not alone going through these amazing life cha nges and that he was there for her. This observation was a good example of our two basic needs, affiliation and achievement. They are affectionate towards one another and the wife even congratulated him on his milestones at work. This was also a good example of how each person demonstrated generality. Agamemnon Agamemnon is the first play of Aeschylusââ¬â¢ trilogy, the Oresteia. Aeschylus was the first of Athensââ¬â¢ three great tragedians; the others: Sophocles; Euripides. The Oresteia was also the first Greek tragedy trilogy written. As Greeks of this epoch focused on humanist ideas, so did Aeschylus. He devoted his genius to serious contemplations of humanistic questions, such as the nature of justice. Other humanistic values are honor, truth, compassion, loyalty, devotion to family and gods. He credits much of his success to Homerââ¬â¢s epics. It is helpful to have read both the Iliad and the Odyssey to understand the Oresteia. I will relate some background information from Homerââ¬â¢s epics as I recount a summary of Aeschylusââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬ ¦show more contentâ⬠¦Zeus refused, and instead chose the shepherd Paris to serve as judge. Each goddess approached Paris in attempts to bribe him with special offerings. Hera offered him a rich kingdom and power; Athena offer ed him wisdom and military success; Aphrodite offered him love and the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen. Paris chose Aphrodite, thus making enemies of Hera and Athena. They both vowed to destroy Paris and the city of Troy. Upon learning that he would possess Helen, Paris went to Troy and established himself as a true prince, the legitimate son of Priam and Hecuba. He sailed to Sparta where he seduced and later abducted Helen. When King Menelaus, Helenââ¬â¢s husband, returned to Sparta and found that his wife was gone, he summoned a number of Greek generals and leaders, including his brother, King Agamemnon. Agamemnon was elected leader of the armies. As they sailed the Aegean Sea making their journey to Troy, the winds died. It was discovered the Agamemnon had killed a deer sacred to Artemis, goddess of the Hunt. Nothing could pacify her anger except the sacrifice of Iphegenia, Agamemnonââ¬â¢s daughter. After much anguish, Agamemnon sent for his daughter under the false pretense that she was to marry Achilles. Once there, however, he had her sacrificed.
